Pharmacists in Canada by Gender and Jurisdiction [Infographic]

Whenever we visit a pharmacy, we notice a very common trend: more often than not the pharmacist is female.

This peaked our interest, so we decided to do some research to put a number behind how many female vs male pharmacists there are in Canada.

No matter what type of business you are in, by researching demographics and really getting to know your clients, you are able to customize your offering to best suit your client’s needs.

You’ll gain a better understanding of the pain points your clients have, how they make purchasing decisions, and ultimately what benefits they are looking for.

The Canadian Institute for Health Information released this report earlier this year in January on a 10 year study done from 2006-2015 of the pharmacy workforce.

Our initial hypothesis was way off, there aren’t as many female pharmacists as we thought there were.

And the trend has been very consistent over the past 10 years.
